Candidate Application for Undergraduate Directors on the Grand Lodge




Purpose: This announcement is a solicitation to determine those undergraduate members who are interested in running for the position of Undergraduate Director on the Grand Lodge and who will be in attendance at the 137th Anniversary Convention in Palm Springs, CA from August 2 - 5th, 2001.

Information on Positions:

  1. According to the Constitution and By-Laws, candidates for the two Undergraduate Director positions must be chapter members at the time of their election (Article 3.2.1).
  2. There are two Undergraduate Director positions on the Grand Lodge.
  3. Undergraduate Directors are elected in odd numbered years and hold office until their successors are elected (3.2.4).
  4. Nominations for Undergraduate Directors shall be made from the Convention floor (By-Law 23.6.1).
  5. As a function of their jobs, one of the Undergraduate Directors shall serve on the Committee on Nominations (By-Law 25.4.1).
  6. The floor nomination of candidates for Undergraduate Directors (any Director or Officer) must be accompanied by a written outline of the qualifications of the nominee, signed by no fewer than six delegates (By-Law 23.6.2). {NOTE: the Committee on Nominations is soliciting undergraduates for their interested in these positions and it is the intent of the Committee, unless otherwise declined by the delegates/candidates to provide the outline of information/qualifications for the respective delegate signature referred to above. This action does not preclude a previously unannounced floor nominee from preparing an outline and obtaining the required signatures.}
